Phivos Therapontos obtained his BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cyprus in 2016 and his MSc in Energy and Sustainability with Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2017. He received his PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Cyprus, in 2026, under the co-supervision of Dr. Petros Aristidou. His doctoral research focused on the equivalencing of active distribution networks, TSO-DSO coordination, and the integration of renewable energy sources in isolated, low-inertia power systems. He works for the Distribution System Operator (DSO) of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and remains a Research Associate at the Sustainable Power Systems Lab of the Cyprus University of Technology.
